Hello there! Welcome to Uncaged Cuisine. I’m Danielle, an avocado enthusiast, cucumber cocktail connoisseur, and the happy, healthy foodie behind this virtual kitchen. I was born and raised in New Jersey, but moved to Nashville for college where I developed a passion for fitness and cooking. I graduated from Vanderbilt with a BS in Communications and Medicine, Health, & Society, and I am also certified as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.

MY PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is founded on a mostly plant-based diet with occasional whole food animal products. More often than not, health foods get a bad rap for being overpriced, lacking flavor, and downright weird looking. However, by focusing on the quality of the foods and how they make us feel, rather than labeling them "good" or "bad" can change your mindset around food. It will allow you to start eating intuitively, focusing on your body's natural cues once you've rid yourself of the "junk" filling you up both physically and mentally. One of my biggest goals is to “uncage” the world of healthy eating and share nutritious recipes simple enough for a busy lifestyle without sacrificing gourmet taste. I want to provide you with the tools to make healthy cooking time-efficient, simple, and affordable and shift your mindset from diet to lifestyle.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?

I know the frustrations of trying to eat healthy because I've been there. I was always over-scheduling myself at the expense of my mental and physical wellbeing. Once I uncovered the tips, tricks, and tools of how to eat healthy on a strict schedule and budget, I truly discovered the mind-body-food connection. I unleashed a happier, healthier self and want to do the same for you. 

When I’m not sampling every food at Whole Foods, I love running with my jack russell terrier, Lilly (who I’m sure you will get to know quite well), experimenting in the kitchen, going to the latest restaurant opening in Nashville, and traveling. I’m so excited to get to know all of you and am honored to be a part of your journey to better health!
